Kocher
Director of Athletics
Kocher’s athletics career began as a starting pitcher for Edinboro University in Pennsylvania from 1997 to 2000. In 2002, he also became head baseball coach for Spotsylvania High School in Virginia.He moved up into the role of assistant baseball coach for the University of Mary Washington in 2009, and his collegiate athletics career has grown and prospered since. In 2011, he moved to Hillsdale College in Michigan, where he moved up from assistant baseball coach to director of recreational sports and athletic facilities, eventually moving up to the role of assistant director of athletics in 2016. From there, he spent time as a faculty member at Urbana University and Franklin University teaching Sport Management. In 2022, he accepted the assistant athletic director of external operations position at Central State University.

Home games feature free admission for all A&M-Victoria students, faculty and staff.
This past season, our baseball (264 avg., 7,114 total) and softball (124 avg., 2,341 total) teams led the Red River Athletic Conference in attendance. Men’s soccer averaged 114 fans and women’s soccer averaged 120 fans in the 2025-26 school year.
In 2025, baseball set a single-game attendance record with 2,342 fans on hand at Riverside Stadium for Little League Appreciation Night against Texas A&M-Texarkana.
Adair returns to A&M-Victoria
The winningest golf coach at Texas A&M University-Victoria is making his return.
On Monday, A&M-Victoria Athletics announced Garrett Adair is returning as the head men's and women's golf coach for the Jaguars. His first day is Monday, June 1.
"I'm super grateful that God blessed me with the opportunity to come back and lead the Jaguars' men's and women's golf programs," Adair said. "I love the direction the programs are going and I look forward to coaching these men and women to great heights on and off the course.
NFCA All-Region Second Team
This is the third consecutive year A&M-Victoria has had a player recognized on the NFCA All-Region team.
"Alyssa had a truly special season and is incredibly deserving of NFCA All-Region recognition," said head coach and Interim Director of Athletics Lindsey Ortiz. "She led our program not only with her performance on the field, but with the consistency, toughness and leadership she brought every single day. She's the heart of our team, and I couldn't be more proud of her."
The Sugar Land native led the team in batting average (.420), hits (50), on-base percentage (.500), runs (38) and slugging percentage (.563) to help the Jaguars (27-18) to their 18th straight winning season. Her OBP ranked fourth among the Red River Athletic Conference.
